What I’d Focus On If I Had to Start From Zero on Social Media

Let’s say it’s day one. You’re staring at a blank Instagram profile. No followers. No content plan. No brand yet. Just vibes. 😅
Whether you’re a new business owner, coming back after a break, or just feeling stuck in a cycle of “posting but not growing,” I want to tell you this:
You don’t need a perfect brand to get started. You just need a plan that meets you where you are.
After years of managing content for clients and growing my own brand (and testing just about everything the algorithm threw at me), I’ve narrowed it down to the three things I’d focus on first if I had to start over — no fluff, no endless content calendars, no filters required.
1. Get Clear on Exactly Who You’re Talking To
I used to think “target audience” meant writing a generic bio like “I help small business owners grow on Instagram.”But here’s the truth:
If you’re speaking to everyone, you’re connecting with no one.
What changed the game for me was building content for one real person. Not a made-up avatar — but someone with real scroll habits, real pain points, and real desires.
That’s where my Jasmine Framework was born — a way of seeing your audience as a person, not just a data point.
When you know who you’re talking to, your captions hit different. You stop guessing what to post, and start creating things that make them go:“Wait... how did she know I needed this?”

2. Show Up Imperfectly (But Consistently)
If you’ve ever spent 2 hours on one post and then deleted it because it “didn’t feel right,” I see you. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned — from coaching, testing, and launching again and again — it’s this:
Done is better than perfect. And momentum matters more than polish.
When I was growing my brand from scratch, I had a choice:Post imperfect content consistently... or wait for the perfect time (and watch someone else show up instead).
The truth? No one remembers your third reel. But they do remember how your content made them feel — and how often they saw it.
So if you’re starting from zero, don’t waste time obsessing over every word or color palette.Just post. Refine later.
3. Engage Like a Human, Not a Marketer
Algorithms love engagement — but people do too.And when I started treating my DMs and comments like a conversation (not a strategy), everything shifted.
That’s when people started replying with: “I’ve been meaning to message you!”💬 “I feel like you’re in my head.” “I just binge-read everything on your page!”
Connection always beats promotion. So even if you only have 30 followers right now — show up like they’re exactly who you’re meant to serve.
Reply to comments. Start conversations. Be a person.
Bonus: The Free Tool I Wish I Had on Day One
If you're in the early stages — or you’re rebuilding after a quiet season — I created something for you.
It’s called the Chaos to Consistency Starter Guide and it’s packed with simple tools, mindset shifts, and content prompts to help you go from stuck to strategic.
You don’t need a massive audience to grow your business.
You need clarity, consistency, and connection. That’s it.It doesn’t have to be loud. It just has to be true to you.
If you’re starting over, know this:You’re not behind. You’re just in a season of building roots.. and those matter more than reach.
And if you want to build something real, I’m in your corner.
